A2 carry handle for sale4/1/2024 Removing the cheap nuts cleaned up the end threads just fine. Though I have a 10-32 thread chaser (die), I didn't need it. The nuts indicated wear the cut would be and acted as a "guide / backstop" for the cutting wheel. With the ch in my vise, I dremeled-off the remainder of the bolt. I believe I would have had the perfect cut (distance-wise) had I not moved the nuts out past the comfortably-minimum 3 - thread distance. Once ready for the cut, I installed the other 2 nuts against the first 2 nuts (double-nutted). Once I was sure of the distance, I moved the nut outward a few more threads (there's a decent window (slop) of the number of threads to play with. ![]() In my case it was 3 threads from bar to rear of nut (closest side to bar). With a single nut per bolt installed, I measured (eyeball) the distance required from the ch hold down (clamp bar) to the nut to allow removal / install of the ch. Went to store and got 4 cheap 10-32 nuts. ![]() Ya'll might have a better method but here's how I did it.
